FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Who is this course for? Is it for Americans only?

This course is for anyone with German ancestors who has done some ancestry research and is planning a trip to Germany – whether you're from the U.S., Canada, Australia, or anywhere else.

The stories in the course focus on German emigration to America (USA), but the content is valuable no matter where your family emigrated to.

How long do I have access to the course?

You’ll have access for 12 months from the day you sign up. That gives you plenty of time to go through the materials at your own pace – without the pressure of rushing, but with just enough motivation to actually get started.

And if you want, you can extend your course access after those 12 months for an additional fee.

How do I get access to the course and the FREE Bonus modules?

After you bought the course on the checkout page, you will immediately receive an email with instructions from our secure payment and hosting platform partner MyAblefy.

If you don't have a learner account with MyAblefy yet, you can simply register for one. After that, you will have instant access to the course

How long does it take to finish the course?

You can complete the self-study course in five days (hence the name), but you’re free to take your own time. Whether you do it in five days, five months or one year is completely up to you!

Each module includes about a video of 40-60 minutes plus exercises, so plan around two hours per module.

Can I pay with PayPal?

Yes! At the checkout of my course hosting platform and payment provider partner Ablefy, you can pay securely via PayPal, credit card, Google Pay, or Apple Pay.

You'll get instant access to the course platform after payment.

Are there any live calls where I can ask my questions?

Not in this course – it's a self-paced course you can do on your own schedule.

If you'd like live support, you can join the my larger online course coaching program called the “Germany Trip Planning Masterclass”. In this course, we have monthly live calls, in which you can ask all of your questions.

How much ancestry research do I need to have done before I take this course?

The course is open for all research levels. Ideally, you should know at least one German hometown your ancestor came from, the year they emigrated and perhaps the emigration port.

But even if you’ve only done a little research or just know that your ancestors were from Germany, this course will give you valuable background and help make your future trip more meaningful.

My question has not been answered. How can I contact you?

If you have any other questions, feel free to send me an email to support@myancestorsjourney.com
